Finding a good kicker in the NFL seems like a tough question these days. Multiple teams rotate through multiple kickers each year, but maybe those clubs should start exploring options on their own rosters. This week, Kansas City Chiefs security Justin Reid posted a video of him hitting a 65-yard field goal in practice.

Houston Texans’ former defensive back is actually a bit known for his pedaling ability. Last year, he even stepped in for pre-season kicker Ka’imi Fairbairn after Fairbairn was injured during pre-match warm-ups.
While this kick wasn’t a game and Reid didn’t have to deal with defenders trying to block him, only one kicker made a 65-yard or longer field goal last year in the NFL, and that was Justin Tucker of the Baltimore Ravens, who played a game. Converted-winning, record-setting 66-yard field goal against the Detroit Lions.
Reid drew a $31.5 million three-year deal including $20 million guaranteed with the Chiefs this offseason. In 57 games in his career, he has registered 315 combined tackles, 23 defensive passes and seven interceptions. The Chiefs have a solid kicker in Harrison Butker, but it’s good to know they have another player on the roster who can step in and give a kick when it comes down to it.
