UK tax collectors spend more than £1m a year on ‘Diversity Officers’

Her Majesty’s Revenue and Customs (HMRC), the UK’s tax collection agency, has reportedly spent millions in taxpayers’ money hiring full-time diversity and inclusion officers.

The same people responsible for taxing the British public have reportedly been using workers’ hard-earned money since 2019 to hire wakeful diversity officers at a cost of more than £3 million.

According to a Freedom of Information (FoI) request reported through Westminster’s political blog, Guido Fawkes, Her Majesty’s Revenue and Customs spend £1,019,534 a year to hire 16 full-time diversity czars.

However, the site noted that the FoI request shows that the 16 are not alone in filling “diversity” roles within the tax collection agency, with others taking on such roles in addition to their “regular duties.”

The report claimed that of the 16 full-time diversity workers, one earns a grade 6 salary, which can go up to £80,384 a year in London, while five others have grade 7 salaries, which can go as high as £66,712.

The FoI request also revealed that the HMRC has its own ‘Race Delivery Programme’, with a budget of £1.5m for the reporting period 2022-23, with ‘16.87 full-time equivalents’.

It comes as Attorney General Suella Braverman this week ordered her staff to scrap all diversity programs in the government’s legal department.

Braverman, who was recently sifted from the Tory leadership race to replace Boris Johnson as prime minister, said she was “horrified” to find that last year government lawyers “spent nearly 2,000 hours of their taxpayer-funded time attending of lectures on ‘micro rudeness’, various ‘life experiences’ and ‘how to be a heterosexual ally’, courtesy of the lesbian, gay, bisexual and transgender charity, Stonewall.”

The Attorney General has called on other government ministers to join her in wiping out wake-up programs from their departments, but it remains to be seen whether this will happen as the Conservative party, which has pulling strings, , have so far failed to stop their spread.

It’s also questionable whether Braverman will even be able to eliminate the diversity programs under her oversight, given that a new administration will be ushered in on Sept. 5 when Boris Johnson’s replacement will be given the keys to number 10.

However, it is likely that Braverman will have a role in the next administration, as she was an early and important mainstay of the current frontrunner, Secretary of State Liz Truss.

Braverman, who is seen as representing the right wing of the Conservative Party in parliament, defended Truss’s anti-woke credentials this week: “Long before it was fashionable, [Liz Truss] has taken a strong stance on freedom of expression, freedom of thought and being against the culture of cancellation.”

The task of eradicating leftism within the British deep state will not be an easy one, with reports indicating that the struggle has spread across the civil service. Last week, Breitbart London reported that bureaucrats attended training sessions in which they were taught that Britain is a racist country and that they should not “discuss” colleagues of color.

Other reports claim that officials have been told to recognize that there are more than 100 genders and that it should be considered normal if their colleagues change genders on a daily basis.

Left-wing ideas about race have also been a key element in the awakened takeover of the permanent state, with proponents of radical Critical Race Theory, such as Ibram X. Kendi and Robin DiAngelo, appearing on “anti-racist” reading lists for government employees.
