More than 330 migrants from Haiti were rescued in a dramatic incident on Saturday afternoon after the sailboat they were carrying ran aground near the Florida Keys.
The US Coast Guard tweeted photos and a video showing the boat full of people, many in orange life jackets. Some had jumped from the boat and were rescued from the water. Those still on board were transferred to coastguard vessels, according to the tweet.
CBP was also given custody of 150 Cuban migrants who came ashore, CBP Assistant Chief Patrol Agent Adam Hoffner told CNN.
According to Hoffner, the CBP was still processing the Haitian and Cuban migrants on Sunday.
