Alex Jones declares win in libel lawsuit despite losing over $4 million
A second verdict has been handed down in the trial of Infowars founder and conspiracy theorist Alex Jones. The Austin, Texas jury ruled Thursday that he must pay more than $4 million in damages to the parents of six-year-old Jesse Lewis who was killed in the 2012 Sandy Hook massacre. Friday they ordered Jones to pay an additional $45.2 million in punitive damages.
Neil Heslin and Scarlett Lewis filed a defamation complaint against Jones over his allegation that the school shooting, which killed 20 children and six adults, was fraudulent.
Both gave passionate testimony as they sat on the witness stand about how Jones’s lies – broadcast to millions – affected their lives and prolonged their grief.
Jones now faces another lawsuit in Texas, filed by the parents of another victim, and another lawsuit in Connecticut for the families of eight of the other victims.
During the trial, it was found that his own lawyer had mistakenly shared the entire contents of Jones’ phone with the opposition legal team, who were asked to provide them to the Jan. 6 committee.
Jones remains defiant after court orders him to pay millions
Alex Jones returned to the airwaves almost immediately on Friday after being ordered to pay nearly $50 million to grieving Sandy Hook parents — and continued to insist the decks were stacked against him while blaming George Soros and “agents” for its legal problems.
That defiance contrasted sharply with the flushed, slack jaws that marked on Mr. Jones’ face during the trial when it was revealed that his lawyers had wrongly sent damning evidence to the opposing attorney.
This week, the Infowars media mogul, estimated to be worth about $270 million by an economist witness, lost the first of several lawsuits against him for spreading conspiracy theories and misinformation. He repeatedly insisted that the 2012 Sandy Hook school massacre in Newtown, Connecticut—when a gunman killed 20 six- and seven-year-olds at an elementary school—was staged as a hoax.

Roger Stone Claims Lawyer Deliberately Leaked Alex Jones Texts
Trump ally and self-confessed political “dirty impostor” Roger Stone accuses the lawyers of Infowars presenter Alex Jones of intentionally leaking the contents of the right-wing broadcaster’s cell phone during the recent defamation trial of Sandy Hook.
On Friday, Mr. Stone posted to Telegram highlighting how Mr. Jones’ attorney, Andino Reynal, had worked for the Obama-era Justice Department.
Now do you think the release of Jones’ text messages was ‘accidental’ or a mistake? If I were Jones, I would charge this man for the exact same amount the jury finds against him,” Stone wrote.

Vote: Alex Jones got his comeuppance in the Sandy Hook defamation lawsuit – finally
There is little in this world more satisfying than seeing a bad man get what he deserved. The pleasure of seeing someone put down after repeatedly “get away with murder” is better for the human body and soul than vegetables and religion. But in recent years, for many prominent people, the consequences haven’t really felt like they were on the map. Bad men no longer get what they deserve. They get book deals, or a TV show, or elected prime minister. Bad men get rich.
Unless your name is Alex Jones, in which case bad men are humiliated over and over on an extremely public forum and then taken to the cleaners by the vulnerable people who used them to make a name for themselves.
Opinion: Alex Jones got what he deserved in the Sandy Hook defamation lawsuit – finally
Hopefully Jones is the first of many bloated, odious dominoes to fall, as we finally begin to see justice for the many humiliations inflicted upon us by terrible men over the years.
