Former U.S. Army General Don Bolduc, a Republican nominee for the U.S. Senate in New Hampshire, criticized Senator Maggie Hassan (D-NH) in an interview with Breitbart News, saying voters in New Hampshire should support him because he “ an outsider is not and paid.”

Breitbart News Saturday host Matthew Boyle opened the interview by asking Bolduc for his opinion on the Senate Democrats’ latest reconciliation bill, the Inflation Reduction Act of 2022.
Bolduc told Boyle, “We’ve seen this movie before, and it never ends well, and it doesn’t end well.”
“And we have the Biden administration, with the full support of Senator Hassan, voting for what almost 100% of the time? Undermine our energy independence, create inflation, make our borders insecure, it costs Granite States and Americans millions and billions of dollars,” Bolduc said. “It’s totally irresponsible, they’re weak, silly, dangerous and hugely expensive.”
Stopping excessive government spending is a priority for Bolduc, who started the “hell no to spend caucus”.
He criticized Hassan for being part of the establishment that has made life unbearable for most Americans.
“Maggie Hassan spent the past 40 years in politics as a senator, governor, and now five and a half miserable years for Granite Staters,” he said. “She does nothing but increase the size of the government, raise taxes and is very irresponsible in her spending, although she claims otherwise.”
Bolduc distinguished himself from his opponent by touting his status as an outsider candidate that is not bought and paid for by big money organizations.
“I am the right candidate because first of all I am an outsider. I’m not being bought and paid for the establishment across the board,” Bolduc said.
Bolduc also highlighted the policies he plans to advocate if he is elected to the Senate this fall.
He said:
I’m not going there to work for an individual senator, I’m not going there to work for an individual party, although I’m a Republican, I’m going to work for Granite Staters and the American people and do the right thing with healthy do some common sense, to get our economy back to where it needs to be, because we’re weak, and it just takes common sense to reverse the energy policy, reverse the border policy.
“You need common sense that is an outsider, that is not bought and paid, I do not take money from Big Pharma, Big Education, Big Med, Big Tech. And so I become an independent senator there,’ said Bolduc. “And that’s how I proceed because I don’t have them waiting for me in my office until I’m even sworn in.”
Bolduc discussed his time in the military, where he served in the United States Army for 36 years and made ten tours of Afghanistan and Africa.
Bolduc received basic military training less than two weeks after graduating from high school and worked his way up “all the way up to general, both in Afghanistan and in Africa.”
He said:
You know, from soldier to sergeant, I served in the 4th ID and in the 82nd Airborne Division as a conscript. I cut my teeth from below there and decided I was going to go to university. And it was the Green to Gold program through the Massachusetts National Guard. And, you know, from draft to Lieutenant Green to Gold. Gold Bar was commissioned in 1988. Within two years I had passed the Special Forces roster. And I was on my way to the Q course.
Bolduc said the 72 troops he lost on duty are “why are on duty every day.”
While serving in the military, Bolduc told those above him “what they needed to hear, not what they wanted to hear.”
He also spoke about taking on former President Barack Obama’s chief of staff, Denis McDonough, when the administration changed its strategy for Afghanistan.
“And I said to him, I said, Hey, if you change strategy now, you’ll never get Afghanistan back. And that, of course, is exactly what happened once Biden became president,” Bolduc said.
Speaking on foreign policy, Bolduc said President Joe Biden’s recent assassination of terrorist Ayman al-Zawahiri was not comparable to the “great assassination” former President Donald Trump had when he assassinated Iranian Qasem Soleimani.
“So this guy has had a huge influence on this, but he’s been relatively ineffective. He’s not the great assassination that the Trump administration committed, you know, tackling Iran that way,” Bolduc said. “Oh, you know how many times we’ve wanted to do that? True, but we couldn’t. And then, you know, Trump comes in and says, Hey, we need to get rid of this guy. And boom, we’re losing them.”
Bolduc said corporate media reports surrounding al-Zawahiri’s assassination are “just a bunch of clerical, administrative propaganda from the National Security Council’s disinformation coordinator, Admiral Kirby.”
